Unofficial. Not affiliated with Jakarta Running Festival, Samsung or the race organiser — built by a runner, for runners in this race, not by the event.
Official information always wins. Your trainer, the race-day medic, the organiser's official rundown, and the marshals and signage on the course — trust them over Race Buddy, always. RACE BUDDY IS NOT MEDICAL ADVICE.
Who is behind Race Buddy
Race Buddy is a project by Rusa Terbang (opens in a new tab) — a private recreational running crew from Bandung and Jakarta, Indonesia. The Rusa Terbang logo (rusa terbang is Indonesian for flying deer — the winged stag you see in the masthead, the footer and every app icon) is our identity. Race Buddy stays independent. Rusa Terbang is not the organiser, not a sponsor, and not affiliated with any event.
How it was built
Race Buddy was drafted, iterated and reviewed with the help of several AI models from Anthropic, Moonshot AI, Z.ai, DeepSeek, Qwen and xAI — directed and edited by a human (runner, programmer, system architect) throughout, with some advice from a World Athletics certified coach. Treat every number here as a planning aid when building your plan, not a guarantee — check it against the organiser's official materials (Event tab) before race day.
Your data stays yours
Your target, , paces and checklist ticks stay in this browser. The plan is not uploaded.
The race-morning forecast is the board's own network call, and it sends only an area code.
If you create an account, your profile holds only what a feature needs, and every field says its purpose where you type it: race category and birth year for your age-group category and anonymous totals; height and weight for the premium heat-load and fuelling numbers; optional personal bests for your predicted finish. It is stored on our server with your consent, and shown back only to you.
Deleting your account (a button on the account page) scrubs it completely, keeping only anonymous bands no one can trace. Plans you choose to sync are stored so they can open on another device. Premium content, when you hold a race strategy, is fetched when you open the tab, and one copy stays on this device for race morning — signing out or deleting the account deletes it.
Sources
Course and event data come from the organiser's public route map, event-day rundown and posts (linked on the Event tab). The route line, elevation and kilometre marks are derived from the organiser's course GPX.
