Your race
Wave & target
Your wave sets your gun — it drives the Race morning timeline below as well as every clock, checkpoint and margin on this page. The sliders in Your pace plan reshape it further.
A single mass start: in 2025 the gun-to-mat gap was about a minute. Set yours to your own corral — every cut-off on this board is a gun-time clock and pays for the walk to the line.
More fine target
Targets run 2:45:00 to 4:58:06 — the 09:00 cut-off from your gun.
Race morning
Journey timeline
Estimate the whole journey, door to corral, and your target sleep — the timeline below follows both.
- 19:05Lights out — screens off, room dark; the night two nights out matters more than this one
- 19:20Asleep by — 6 h before the alarm, the target, not a promise
- 01:20Alarm — across the room; kit laid out last night, nothing to decide in the dark
- 01:35Breakfast — 40–60 g familiar carbohydrates, low fibre, 2 h 25′ before the gun · 300–500 ml, then stop (Fuel tab)
- 01:35Toilet window, until you leave — the reason breakfast comes this early
- 02:15Last toilet + dress — where you slept is the last certain toilet; start-area ones are backup. Bib pinned the night before
- 02:30Leave for the start — 30 min door to ; parking and the walk are part of it
- 03:00Arrive — Gelora Bung Karno — toilets, kit, : inside 60′ before your gun
- 03:30Start line + open — official rundown
- 03:45Pre-start gel + water — in the
- 04:00YOUR GUN — 1 — every clock on Race Buddy runs from here
Taking the MRT? Get ready before you head to the station. On race morning the very first train only starts running after 03:00 — so plan backwards from that first train, not from your gun: the alarm, the trip to the station and the platform wait all hang off it. The full early-service timetable (⚠️ 2025, carried as printed) is on the Get there tab.
Arriving too close to the gun raises the risk of: stress, a heart rate already high before the start, no time to warm up, a rush to the , forgetting to drink or use the toilet. Arriving too early (say more than 2 hours) isn't ideal either — you can end up standing too long and getting cold or tired.
Subuh on course
Pray Subuh?
Fajr 04:09 is after your gun — if you pray Subuh, it happens on course. Answer Yes to plan it.
A praying runner whose gun is before Fajr breaks on course. Race Buddy plans the break conservatively (the scenario's longest total) and adds it to every clock after the prayer place.
Your pace plan
Segments
Your plan, segment by segment:
Let the go without you. A mass start at 04:00 pulls everyone out too fast — and the bank you need is at the far end: COP4 is tighter than the finish. Settle inside the first kilometre, not after it.
Splits & chart
Default paces follow a course-shaped plan on a /km base — near-even, with a breath less on the rises — rescaled to your target, so the shape still lands on your time. Elapsed = official km × your .

Your steps (blue slow → red fast) over the measured elevation, redrawn as the sliders move. Δele is the net change per segment. The canvas is flat — 8–28 m — so the shape's work is done by the cut-off clocks, not the terrain. Elapsed and clock are cumulative at the segment end (your ). Segment boundaries are the ten course landmarks in the second column; each block's is the Every Kilometer strategy line re-averaged across that block — time-preserving, so the strategy's clock still lands at every boundary. Landmark positions are approximate (±0.2 km) — read off the course GPX, not surveyed; on course, trust the official km markers.

Adjust your plan
All ten sliders share one scale — 5:25 to 7:25 — so the thumbs read as the shape of your effort. Further right is slower.
1.3 % faster to km 28, then 2.6 % slower — banks time where the cut-offs punish a slow start.
Race with a plan you have rehearsed: load your own watch plan — a PacePro strategy or simple pace alerts — and use it before race day, not for the first time at the start line.
The route
Drawn from the organiser's route GPX (north up), the line colored by your — the same wash as the chart above; numbered dots are segment ends — the landmarks in the table above. ■ start/finish — GBK's east side · ◎ the cut-off points: {cops} · ● — the crew's planning positions, ±0.4 km each · yellow dots = km markers. Read it race week and in the — during the race your watch and the kilometre markers navigate. The chart under the map is the same plan, live-linked — scrub either one and the dots mark the same kilometre; and clock follow your sliders.
The course, measured
The risk is the clock, not the climb. The 2026 gates sit near-even — 7:13 to 7:04 /km from the gun — and the tightest is the last one: COP4 at km 36.8 is tighter than the finish itself. Run the back half by the cut-off card, not by how the legs feel.
The heat lands after sunrise (05:28), around km 14. Nothing here is sheltered: the long avenues run without shade. Let the drift with the temperature instead of forcing the plan's number — the plan rescales, the body does not.
Air quality is the organiser's other warning this year (safety advisory, 16 Oct). Check a reliable air-quality source in race week and ease off outdoor training when it is poor; with asthma or another breathing condition, see a doctor before you race.
When it gets hard
| km | What happens | The answer, decided now |
|---|---|---|
| 0–14 | Dark, flat, crowded. The Subuh stop sits at km 2; the Monas loop is the only navigation | Controlled, not comfortable. This block decides the whole race: nothing banked here is free — it is borrowed from the last 10 km |
| 14–18 | Out of Monas, back down Thamrin, south to COP1 at the Imam Bonjol corner. Sun up ≈05:28 | Recalculate once, calmly. COP1 is the loosest gate of the four — spend nothing here you would not spend twice |
| 18–28 | The Rasuna Said out-and-back: south with the sun behind the towers, U-turn at the bottom, home to COP2 at the same Imam Bonjol corner | The turn is a checkpoint, not a finish line. Running the outbound leg hot costs the inbound leg twice |
| 28–37 | Sudirman south, the Semanggi cloverleaf, the Gatot Subroto U-turn — COP3 and COP4 live here | Fuel on the clock, not on feeling. Strive, the race's official gel, is handed out at four Strive stations — the Fuel tab lists them with your clock; take each with water |
| 37–42.2 | The Sisingamangaraja out-and-back — the course's only real rise (≈28 m at the turn) — then Sudirman home | Whatever is left, spend it. The crowd does the last kilometre for you |
Nothing new.
Just the next kilometre.
If the plan breaks
| Behind at a clock | Even 7:02/km from here still answers — read the cut-off card before deciding anything. Steady beats panicking |
| Missed a back-half (31.8 · 36.8) | The race ends there — the shuttle takes you back to the race village and the result reads . Say it plainly and stop racing the : these two gates are tighter than the finish itself. Walk in from the village, cheer the half-marathon crew tomorrow, take the MRT |
| Hot morning | Ease from km 28, not from the walk. The cut-offs are clock times — 5 s/km given away before COP3 costs less than the same 5 s/km inside the COP3–COP4 stretch, where the race's tightest gates sit |
| Something hurts sharply | Stop. A costs one race. Sharp pain is a doctor question — not medical advice, a medical tent |
| Dizzy, sick, confused or unsteady — you or a runner near you | Stop, and get the nearest medic. The organiser's heat-stroke warning signs: severe dizziness or headache, nausea or vomiting, feeling extremely hot or weak, confusion, staggering or fainting. Still sweating is not an all-clear — don't wait for dry skin |
